As young professionals living and working in Venice, reflecting nowadays some of the benefits and many of the costs linked to mass tourism market, we were deeply committed on offering a different experience to what was already on the go, something that could summarize our feelings for the preservation of Venice and our passion for active life to be shared with its visitors.

That gave birth in 2015 to Venice by Run, a sustainable active tourism project dedicated to sight-running tours, far beyond the mass tourism proposals, to discover and live the fragile and unique environment of Venice in a zero-impact way. Small-group guided private tours, customised hotel/apartment pick-up and early bird out of the crowd routes were the distinctive marks of Venice by Run.
In the summer of 2016 the project was extended to the near Romeo and Juliet’s city of Verona. As it was still in the early stages of mass tourism, that was the right time to offer a solid alternative to classic tourism development.
By the end of the 2017 touristy season, the request for a more comprehensive offer of active tours led us to add new cycling and rafting tours on one side, new destinations as Florence and Milan on the other side. The website has been restyled and the name has been changed to fit all the requirements, but the heart passion undergoing the activity is still the same to provide sustainable, active, authentic tours in Italy. Here we are, Italy by run!
The private running tours are designed for individuals and small groups (max 6-10 persons, depending on the tour) to offer a unique visit to the most valuable historical, artistic and cultural places of Venice, Florence, Verona and Milan away from the mass tourism proposal. We will show you the everyday life of our beatiful art cities and give you useful practical information to live your stay like a local.
All this in a fun and healthy way!
Our Vision
We want to offer people visiting Italy a sustainable and healthy tourism experience.
Our Mission
We want to organize active city tours, out of the mass tourism conditions, that allow you to know, live, enjoy Italian art cities without leaving a high impact on them.
