“The Earth Day” on 22nd April 2018, now in its 48th edition, is dedicated to providing the information and inspiration needed to fundamentally change human attitude and behavior about plastic.

Earth Day is the largest environmental event in the world. The only time when citizens get together to celebrate the Earth and promote its preservation.

“All people, regardless of ethnicity, gender, geographical origin or income, have the right to a healthy, balanced and sustainable environment”. On 22 April 1970, inspired by this principle, millions of people took to the streets to protest the negative impacts of 150 years of industrial development. The groups that had fought alone against pollution from fossil fuels, pollution of factories and power plants, toxic waste, pesticides, progressive desertification and extinction of wildlife suddenly realized that they shared common values.

The global ecological awareness was growing and after 48 years this day takes on an even greater significance:

Earth Day is the largest civic-focused day of action in the world celebrated in about 192 countries. It is a day of political action and civic participation. Many people march, sign petitions, meet with their elected officials, plant trees, clean up their towns and roads.

The main focus of Earth Day 2018 is on plastic pollution, that is poisoning our oceans and land, injuring marine life, and affecting our health.

We know we can keep our spaces wild and our planet green! We must work for it and put our energy into what we are most passionate about. Everyday.

Italy by run is even more determined to promote its mission: offering people visiting Italy a sustainable and healthy tourism experience allowing you to knowliveenjoy Italian art cities without leaving a high impact on them.
